Los Angeles Hydroxycut Recall Attorneys

At least 9 million packages of dietary supplement Hydroxycut were sold last year in grocery stores and pharmacies. Now all 14 Hydroxycut products have been recalled by the Food and Drug Administrating for being associated with causing severe liver damage. May 1, 2009 marks the date of the FDA's warning for use of Hydroxycut products to stop immediately. There have been 23 reports of liver damage and at least one reported death.

Users of the natural supplement have experienced symptoms ranging from jaundice, or yellowing of the skin, to liver failure requiring liver transplant. Other health problems reported include seizures, cardiovascular disorders, and rhabdomyolysis, which is a type of muscle damage that can lead to kidney failure. Symptoms of liver injury include nausea, vomiting, excessive fatigue, weakness, stomach or abdominal pain, itching and loss of appetite. If you have experienced any of these dangerous Hydroxycut side effects or developed any other new symptoms after Hydroxycut use, it is extremely important to see your health care provider right away.

Hydroxycut is advertised to be made from natural ingredients and all its products are marketed as low carb diet aids, as fat burners, as energy-enhancers, for weight-loss, and for water loss under Iovate and MuscleTech brand names. Dietary supplement manufacturers, such as Iovate Health Sciences of Hydroxycut, don't need to prove to the FDA that their products are safe and effective before they can be sold on the market. Because the FDA relies on voluntary reports to detect dietary supplement defects or problems, many cases are never reported and several years passed before a clear relationship between Hydroxycut and liver disease became apparent.
