Panish, Shea & Boyle Strength By Your Side

Insurance Bad Faith Lawyers

When you sign up for insurance, you’re really signing a contract. That contract says your insurance company agrees to provide payment or other services under certain circumstances; in exchange, you agree to pay your premiums on time. For most people, that contract holds even when they need to file an insurance claim. But sometimes, insurance companies don’t hold up their end of the bargain. When a claim is too expensive, companies may manufacture excuses not to pay it at all, undervalue your claim or unreasonably delay payment on a claim that you know is valid. This is called insurance bad faith, and if you’re a victim, you have the right to sue your insurance company for the money they’re contractually obligated to pay you.

As leading personal injury lawyers, the attorneys at Panish, Shea & Boyle understand what many clients only gradually realize: Insurance companies are in business to make money, not to help you, and some are willing to commit fraud in order to do it. Adjustors faced with a high claim may deny that you have coverage that you’ve already paid for; suggest that your claim is false; cancel your policy outright; try to pay less than your claim is really worth; or drag the case on so long that you just give up. Customers may be victimized twice: Once by the circumstances that led to their claim, and again by their own insurers. Unfortunately, this is especially common among auto insurers and health insurers.

Because Panish, Shea & Boyle has represented so many catastrophically injured clients, our attorneys have substantial experience dealing with stubborn insurance companies. We can help you understand what you’re entitled to under your insurance contract, and we can make sure you get it, through negotiations or through the courts.
