Avjet Corp., a Burbank-based charter jet company, reached an $11.7-million settlement Monday with the families of three people killed two years ago in a plane crash in Aspen, Colo.
The settlement was reached before jurors were set to consider whether to award punitive damages in the two wrongful-death cases in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
The parents of Marissa Witham will receive $9.5 million, and the grandmother of Joseph and Jose Aguilar will receive $2.2 million.
The two cases were the last of about a dozen suits brought against Avjet.
