Paralysis Lawyers

Paralysis is caused by damage to the spinal cord, which can happen with or without a broken spine or broken vertebrae. In fact, some spinal cord damage isn't caused by a blow or other traumatic force; the spine can also be damaged by tumors, stroke, lack of blood or certain diseases. Unfortunately, spinal tissue is like brain tissue. Once damaged, it can't grow back, and lost functions almost always remain lost. What's lost depends on where the victim was injured; the higher the injury, the more functions lost, and damage is more severe if the spinal cord is completely cut.

Serious accidents that can cause paralysis include:

Paralysis is a catastrophic injury that can devastate the lives of the victim and his or her loved ones in one moment. After a paralyzing accident, victims need extensive medical treatment, therapies and devices. They may have to stop working altogether or radically change careers. In extreme cases, victims may need help with daily tasks, at least in the short run. These losses aren't just physical -- they're severe emotional losses as well. They can also cost a lot of money to treat and accommodate. If you or someone you care about was paralyzed in an accident caused by someone else's carelessness, you have the right to sue that person.
